    Iniciador de la literatura social anti-colonial en América Latina y una corriente de pensamiento de base anarquista. La figura de Barrett aparece con chispazos de lucidez en una época donde los nuevos fascismos y nacionalismos van ganando terreno cada día. Es así que la importancia de las reflexiones barrettianas radica en que excede a los análisis de su época con relación a las luchas contemporáneas de carácter político y social y las nuevas subjetividades que no tenían importancia en un momento histórico en Paraguay. Por ello, el presente trabajo busca examinar la obra barrettiana en contraposición a las posturas dominantes del novecentismo paraguayo, a la luz de la noción de “literatura menor” y el tratamiento de lo “minoritario” y “mayoritario” de la lengua, propuestos por Gilles Deleuze y Félix Guattari.

    A pioneer of anti-colonial social literature in Latin America and an anarchist-based school of thought. The figure of Barrett appears with glimpses of critic’s insight at a time when the new fascisms and nationalisms are gaining ground. Thus, the importance of Barrett's reflections lies in the fact that he exceeds the analyses of his time in relation to the contemporary political and social struggles and the new subjectivities that were deemed irrelevant at that time in Paraguay. Therefore, this paper seeks to examine Barrett's work in contrast to the dominant positions of Paraguayan novecentismo, in the light of the notion of "minor literature" and the treatment of the "minority" and "majority" of language, proposed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.
