La crisis de los rohingya supone uno más de estos episodios de violencia sistemática sobre un grupo étnico basado en la religión y las diferencias étnicas históricas, donde el gobierno de Myanmar no está tomando las medidas necesarias para remediar esta situación. En este artículo examinaremos el recorrido histórico de esta discriminación que, posteriormente, se convertiría en persecución y, por último, en uno de los mayores genocidios del siglo XXI. Prestaremos especial atención a la nueva situación impuesta por el golpe de Estado del Tatmadaw en febrero de 2020 y cómo afecta o puede afectar a la situación de los rohingya, además de observar cuáles han sido las medidas tomadas por la Comunidad Internacional a este respecto.

The Rohingya crisis is yet another such episode of systematic violence against an ethnic group based on religion and historical ethnic differences, where the Myanmar government is not taking the necessary steps to remedy the situation. In this article we will examine the historical trajectory of this discrimination, which later turned into persecution and finally into one of the biggest genocides of the 21st century. We will pay special attention to the new situation imposed by the Tatmadaw coup d'état in February 2020 and how it affects or may affect the situation of the Rohingya, as well as what measures have been taken by the international community in this regard.
