The article intends to explore the desecration of the woman in L’Iguana by Anna Maria Ortese, in which the woman-iguana Estrellita is the victim of a disastrous fall. From a condition of beatification, the Iguana passes to be identified with a demonic creature, so that the purifying mechanism of the pharmakòs can be exercised on her. The Iguana is never the subject, but always the object of male’s representations, eternally wife and daughter and a mere tool for the man’s maturation.

L’articolo intende esplorare la dissacrazione nei confronti della donna nell’Iguana di Anna Maria Ortese, in cui la donna-iguana Estrellita è vittima di una rovinosa caduta. Da una condizione di beatificazione, l’Iguana passa a essere identificata con una creatura demoniaca, affinché si possa esercitare su di lei il meccanismo purificatorio del pharmakòs. L’Iguana non è mai soggetto, ma sempre oggetto delle rappresentazioni maschili, eternamente moglie e figlia e mero strumento per la maturazione dell’uomo.
