    En el presente trabajo se expone un diagnóstico aproximado sobre el estado actual de la Bioinformática en Cuba y se proponenrecomendaciones para favorecer la integración más efectiva entre las instituciones cubanas, académicas y de Investigación-Desarrollo, que incluyen esta disciplina emergente entre sus líneas científicas. La realización de la primera edición de la Maestríaen Bioinformática en el país, fue el escenario propicio para aplicar métodos y técnicas cualitativas de investigación entre losestudiantes y profesores de este primer grupo y su Comité Académico. A partir de estas contribuciones se elaboró el diagnósticocon las fortalezas, oportunidades, debilidades y amenazas que enfrenta este joven campo de estudios en frontera. Según loarrojado por este análisis, se construyó la propuesta de recomendaciones para contribuir, en lo posible, al fortalecimiento de laintegración de centros que en el país apuestan hoy por esta disciplina y la pertinencia de sus resultados.

    This paper shows an approximate diagnosis about the current situation of Bioinformatics in Cuba and also proposes somerecommendations to favor a more effective integration among academic and Research & Development Cuban institutions thatinclude this emergent field of study among their scientific lines. The first edition in the country of the Master’s degree studies inBioinformatics was the right moment to apply qualitative research methods and techniques among students and teachers of thisfirst group and its Academic Committee. Taking as starting point the previous contributions the diagnose was elaborated with thestrengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats that this young field of study in frontier faces. According to the results takenfrom the analysis, the proposal of recommendations was made to contribute, as far as possible, to strengthen the integrationamong institutions in the country that have their future hopes in this field of study and in its results’ pertinence
