Resumen de La retórica en la Grecia clásica: Aristóteles y el arte de la persuasión

La retórica, entendida como arte de la persuasión, tiene una incidencia directa en el quehacer cotidiano de los juristas. Este trabajo tiene por objeto, en primer lugar, analizar las causas y el contexto histórico que provocaron el surgimiento de la retórica en Siracusa y en Atenas durante el siglo V a.C. En segundo lugar, estudiar la polémica acerca de la retórica protagonizada por los principales sofistas de la época y Platón. Por último, exponer la sistematización teórica de la disciplina retórica desarrollada por Aristóteles en su célebre libro Retórica.

Rhetoric, understood as the art of persuasion, has a direct impact on the daily work of jurists. The aim of this paper is, firstly, to analyse the causes and historical context that led to the emergence of rhetoric in Syracuse and Athens during the 5th century BC. Secondly, it studies the polemic about rhetoric between the main sophists of the time and Plato. Finally, the theoretical systematisation of the discipline of rhetoric developed by Aristotle in his book Rhetoric is presented.
