    Este artículo analiza la influencia de la dominación española en la moda y el gusto en Sicilia. El vestido “a la española” se convirtió en un medio de distinción en la sociedad aristocrática siciliana y el arte textil se convirtió en un medio de difusión de la cultura y el gusto de la época. Gracias a los grandes intercambios políticos y económicos que Sicilia mantuvo con España, la isla se convirtió en un punto de referencia y las grandes familias nobles si-cilianas se alinearon con las más grandes cortes europeas en términos de lujo, elegancia y opulencia.

    This article analyses the influence of Spanish domination on fashion and taste in Sicily. The ‘Spanish style’ dress became a means of distinction in Sicilian aristocratic society and the art of textiles became a means of spreading the culture and taste of the time. Thanks to the great political and economic exchanges that Sicily had with Spain, the island beca-me a focal point and the great Sicilian noble families aligned themselves with the greatest European courts in terms of luxury, elegance and opulence
