La enfermedad de Osgood Schlatter se da en adolescentes atletas cuyo esqueleto es inmaduro. Su síntoma principal es el dolor en la tuberosidad anterior de la tibia y se relaciona con movimientos repetitivos como deportes en los que se corre y salta con frecuencia.
El principal objetivo fisioterapéutico será disminuir el dolor y la inflamación y el abordaje terapéutico incluye desde reducir o eliminar la actividad física que nos provoca este dolor, la utilización de electroterapia analgésica, aplicación de hielo, ortesis, fibrólisis diacutánea, ultrasonidos, estiramientos y potenciación de la musculatura implicada hasta el uso de la magnetoterapia entre otros tratamientos.
Con el final de la etapa de crecimiento de la zona y la maduración ósea se suele resolver de forma espontánea este trastorno benigno.

Osgood Schlatter disease occurs in adolescent athletes whose skeleton is immature. Its main symptom is pain in the anterior tibial tuberosity and is related to repetitive movements such as sports in which you run and jump frequently.
The main physiotherapeutic objective will be to reduce pain and inflammation and the therapeutic approach includes everything from reducing or eliminating the physical activity that causes this pain, the use of analgesic electrotherapy, application of ice, orthoses, stretching and strengthening of the muscles involved to the use of magnetotherapy among other treatments.
With the end of the growth stage of the area and bone maturation, this benign disorder usually resolves spontaneously.
