  El Virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH) es una patología prevalente a nivel mundial con un alto coste para los sistemas sanitarios. Es importante conocer este virus ya que así se podrá prevenir mediante programas de prevención primaria y secundaria. Y en el caso de estar infectado, poder dar la mejor respuesta a las necesidades que presentan estos pacientes, mejorar su calidad de vida y evitar la progresión del Síndrome de la Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida (SIDA). Además, es fundamental trabajar las diversas áreas que habitualmente se ven afectadas al padecer VIH como la adhesión al tratamiento, la nutrición, el aspecto social y el psicológico, entre otros.

  The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a worldwide prevalent pathology with a high cost for health systems. It is important to know this virus since it can be prevented through primary and secondary prevention programs. And in the case of being infected, be able to give the best response to the needs of these patients, improve their quality of life and avoid progression to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). It is also essential to work on the various areas that are usually affected by suffering from HIV, such as adherence to treatment, nutrition, the social and psychological aspects, among others.
