Patrimonio inmaterial y memorias plurales: historias del patrimonio, olvidos y oportunidades de futuro

    La etiqueta de patrimonio inmaterial ha tenido un éxito inusitado en los más diversos países del mundo. Este texto se cuestiona si esta patrimonialización está contribuyendo de algún modo a visibilizar memorias plurales o si, tal como apuntan cada vez más estudios, es un proceso que mantiene y reproduce la jerarquización social, silenciando las diversidades. Se reflexiona así sobre la articulación entre patrimonio inmaterial y folclore y las representaciones de las memorias colectivas. Desde el estudio de caso de las activaciones del patrimonio inmaterial en Andalucía (España), vamos más allá de las explicaciones que remiten a la orientación neoliberal y turística del patrimonio o a la difusión del modelo Unesco, para complejizar las respuestas. El artículo atiende a las decisiones políticas, legislativas y técnicas, analizando las consecuencias de los mecanismos de selección de las instituciones patrimoniales (listas, catálogos, inventarios); dirige la mirada al contradictorio papel de las instituciones y la subordinación de los antropólogos en estos procesos; interpreta la reflexividad que las acciones folcloristas han generado en la ciudadanía y en sus formas de construir la memoria en relación con el patrimonio inmaterial.

    The intangible heritage label has had unprecedented success in the most diverse countries of the world. This text questions whether this heritagization is contributing in any way to making plural memories visible or whether, as more and more studies point out, this process maintains and reproduces social hierarchy, silencing diversities. Thus, it reflects on the articulation between intangible heritage and folklore and the representations of collective memories. From the case study of the activations of intangible heritage in Andalusia (Spain), we go beyond the explanations that refer to the neoliberal and tourist orientation of heritage or to the dissemination of the UNESCO model, to make the answers more complex. The article addresses political, legislative, and technical decisions, analysing the consequences of the selection mechanisms of heritage institutions (lists, catalogues, inventories); looks at the contradictory role of institutions and the subordinated role of anthropologists in these processes; interprets the reflexivity that folklorist actions have generated in citizens and in their ways of constructing memory concerning intangible heritage.
