Resumen de Experiencia virtual de interpretación de cambios en el paisaje en la formación inicial de docentes de Educación Infantil

Estamos inmersos en una época de cambio global ambiental y socioeconómico, de crisis de la biodiversidad y de alteración profunda del medioambiente por impactos humanos, denominado Antropoceno. La comprensión de estos cambios ambientales ocurridos en las últimas décadas a nuestro alrededor resulta básica en la educación ambiental. Para ello, es necesario conocer el entorno próximo y aprender a interpretar el paisaje. Aquí se diseña e implementa una experiencia virtual para la interpretación de esos cambios en el paisaje a través de cartografía digital online, como herramienta didáctica de educación ambiental aplicada con los futuros maestros de educación infantil. Empleando el comparador histórico de fotografías aéreas del Plan Nacional de Ortofotografía Aérea (PNOA), se han realizado unos ejemplos guiados sobre la creación de zonas húmedas y la evolución de algunos ecosistemas en Asturias (Norte de España). Después, el alumnado debía elegir una zona del entorno natural próximo, observar y describir los cambios ocurridos en los últimos 20 años. El crecimiento urbano, el cambio en los usos del suelo y el abandono agrícola y ganadero, así como los efectos de los incendios forestales estuvieron entre los cambios seleccionados por el alumnado. Los futuros maestros consideraron que la experiencia didáctica permite el acercamiento al medio natural, tanto en el grado como en Educación Infantil, habiéndoles resultado útil en su propio aprendizaje y expresaron su interés en emplear ese recurso con su futuro alumnado

We are immersed in a time of global environmental and socioeconomic change, of biodiversity crisis and deep alteration of the environment by human impacts, called Anthropocene. The understanding of these environmental changes that have occurred in recent decades is a key issue in environmental education. To do this, it is necessary to know the nearby environment and learn to interpret the landscape. Here, a virtual experience is designed and implemented for the interpretation of these landscape changes through online digital cartography, as a didactic tool of applied environmental education, and used with future teachers of early childhood education. Using the historical comparator of aerial photographs of the National Aerial Orthophotography Program (PNOA), some guided examples have been shown on the creation of wetlands and the evolution of some ecosystems in Asturias (North of Spain). The students had to choose an area of the nearby natural environment, observe and describe the changes that had occurred in the last 20 years. Urban growth, land use change and agricultural and extensive livestock abandonment, as well as the effects of forest fires were among the changes selected by the students. The future teachers considered that the didactic experience allows the approach to the natural environment, both in the grade and in Early Childhood Education, having been useful in their own learning and expressed their interest in using this resource with their future students.
