The study of the founding of convents in the Modern Age sheds light on social, Church, religiosity, guild, art, urban, family and women's history. A master, a religious order, and the agreement between the two of them could be enough to start up a convent, although it would also need the nuns who found their destiny in a new space, a way of life and the precedents which other monasteries had established for them. We will study this process within the specific context of the former convent of Valladolid of the Dominican nuns of the Mother of God, examining the careers of women who came as professed nuns and those who arrived to become into a nun, their number, their social and geographic origins, and all those data which enable us to reconstruct the lives of women who entered a new convent, "without history", and with a reputation that had yet to be created.
