Resumen de Una mirada crítica a "Laudato Si": ¿un documento más o una propuesta consistente?

La publicación de la encíclica Laudato Si hace algo más de cinco años, ha supuesto el despertar de la Iglesia Católica a la urgente cuestión del problema ecológico. En opinión de algunos, vivimos un momento límite como civilización, y por primera vez la duda sobre la posibilidad de futuro como especie no está garantizada. Tendremos que preguntarnos en qué medida, desde la Laudato Si, los cristianos católicos están más dispuestos a tener una palabra en la cuestión ambiental y si tienen los mimbres filosóficos y teológicos suficientes para ofrecer una propuesta alternativa a lo que la encíclica critica: la lógica del consumo desaforado y la depredación de los recursos naturales en pro de una cultura de masas. Analizaremos críticamente también las acusaciones que se han realizado, desde el pensamiento político y económico, sobre la encíclica, en cuanto falta de concreción y de viabilidad, y veremos que sí hay en el documento varias propuestas concretas encaminadas a la transformación sociocultural necesaria para abordar los problemas medioambientales con otra perspectiva ética y creativa (destacando la propuesta de un nuevo tipo de racionalidad práctica de tipo ético, coherente con un cambio de paradigma en las ciencias, tendente a un enfoque sistémico e inter-transdisciplinar).

The publication of the encyclical Laudato Si a little over five years ago, has meant the awakening of the Catholic Church to the urgent question of the ecological problem. In the opinion of some, we live in a limiting moment as a civilization, and for the first time the doubt about the possibility of the future as a species is not guaranteed. We will have to ask ourselves to what extent, since Laudato Si, Catholic Christians are more willing to have a word on the environmental issue and if they have the philosophical and theological roots sufficient to offer an alternative proposal to what the encyclical criticizes: the logic of unbridled consumption and the depredation of natural resources in favor of a mass culture. We will also critically analyze the accusations that have been made, from political and economic thought, about the encyclical, as a lack of concreteness and viability, and we will see that there are in the document several concrete proposals aimed at the sociocultural transformation necessary to address environmental problems with another ethical and creative perspective (highlighting the proposal of a new type of practical rationality of an ethical type, consistent with a paradigm shift in science, tending to a systemic and inter-transdisciplinary approach).
