    Este es un breve tratado que condensa, de una manera apta para todo público, una respuesta a la pregunta “¿qué es reología?”. Se pasará revista a los siguientes puntos: el motivo de una herramienta nueva como la reología; su clarificación como herramienta y no como doctrina, es decir, como autónoma; sus características: explicativa (no sólo descriptiva), factual (no especulativa), probativa (no a priori) y tradicional (no tradicionalista). Antes de esta última característica, habrá un excurso sobre reología y ciencia. Luego, distinguiremos la reología de la ontología y otro excurso distinguirá nuestra herramienta de la “reología” física. Mostraremos después cómo la nuestra constituye un realismo nuevo. Cierra un tercer excurso titulado “¿qué son las cosas?”. Al final, entregamos una bibliografía actualizada dividida por los siguientes temas: reología básica, desarrollos filosóficos desde la reología, herramientas de reología, reología y ciencias, reología y otras filosofías.

    This is a brief treatise that condenses, in a manner suitable for all audiences, an answer to the question “what is reology?”. The following points will be reviewed: the reason for a new tool such as reology; its clarification as a tool and not as a doctrine, i.e., as autonomous; its characteristics: explanatory (not only descriptive), factual (not speculative), probative (not a priori) and traditional (not traditionalist). Before this last characteristic, there will be an excursus on reology and science. Then, we will distinguish reology from ontology and another excursus will distinguish our tool from physical “rheology”. We will then show how ours constitutes a new realism. A third excursus entitled “what are the things?” closes. At the end, we provide an updated bibliography divided by the following topics: basic reology, philosophical developments from reology, tools of reology, reology and sciences, reology and other philosophies.
