    En este trabajo se repasan las distintas formas institucionales que adquirieron las iniciativas interdisciplinarias en la Universidad de Buenos Aires desde la vuelta al estado de derecho en Argentina en 1983. Entre tales iniciativas se destaca en primera instancia la experiencia interdisciplinaria desplegada por el Centro de Estudios Avanzados (cea). Se caracterizan las adecuaciones que con llevó en las universidades la orientación neoliberal del gobierno nacional en la década de 1990, donde la opción por la interdisciplina se articuló con la conformación de alianzas y redes de cooperación con sectores extrauniversitarios, tanto de la esfera empresarial privada como de instancias gubernamentales más amplias. Aún cuando el cea dejó de funcionar en 2003 como tal, se muestra que la promoción de la interacción interdisciplinaria ya no dejaría de figurar en la agenda de la uba, primero con la creación de los Programas Intersdisciplinarios de la ubay luego con su incorporación como variante específica de la programación regular del sistema de investigación científica de la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica de la universidad.

    In this work are revisit the different institutional formats that interdisciplinary initiatives acquired at the University of Buenos Aires (uba) since 1983 with the return to democracyin Argentina. The first of them around the experience and trajectory of the Centre for Advanced Studies (cea,por sus siglas en español). Adjustments derived from the neoliberal orientation of the national Government in the 1990s, are connected to an option for arrangements in which interdisciplinarity was articulated with the conformation of alliances and networks of cooperation with sectors out of academia, both private and governmental.Even though cea ceased its functioning in 2003, the agenda of the uba the promotion of interdisciplinary interaction took new formats, namely first through the creation of five interdisciplinary programs and later also incorporated as a specific variant of the regular scientific research of the University.Finally, the paper connects the consolidation of the interdisciplinary ideal with a new impetus generated by the scientific and technological policies enforced during the presidencies of Néstor Kirchner (2003-2007) and mainly Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (2007-2015). In this period interdisciplinary research strengthened its participation in the national political agenda as a way to produce usable and socially relevant knowledge, add value to the production of goods and services that could stimulate innovationand favor social inclusion. Milestone in this regard was the creation of the Interdisciplinary Center for Studies of Science, Technology and Innovation in the heart of theNational Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología en Innovación Productiva. It is also argued that the increased participation of argentine scientists in calls of international scientific research agencies and knowledge networks contributed crucially to the consolidation of interdisciplinary research in the region. Some general lessons about the role and dynamics of research policies that promote interdisciplinarity in countries like Argentina are outlined.
