En César Vallejo están presentes lo inadmisible y la sorpresa para incrementar el ambiente de miedo y horror en el personaje y el lector. Otro elemento presente en el autor de Los heraldos negros es lo fantástico. El lector se sumerge en un espacio real textual en donde lo extraño no solo sorprende, sino que irrumpe en el espacio normal andino. En Vallejo, lo sobrenatural invade el ámbito real y a partir de entonces, el personaje experimenta espanto y horror ante la presencia de sucesos anormales y el espectro de la madre muerta. El papel femenino en Vallejo es muy importante, ya que este es el que abre la puerta a lo insólito y es el instrumento para que lo inadmisible se produzca en el espacio normal. Vallejo se vale de lo fantástico para resaltar la importancia de la madre como proveedora del alimento físico y espiritual hasta después de muerta. Para estos propósitos utilizaremos estudios críticos de David Roas y otros estudiosos del miedo y lo fantástico por ser relevantes en esta investigación.

In César Vallejo the inadmissible and the surprise are present to increase the atmosphere of fear and horror in the character and in the reader. Another element present in the author of The Black Heralds is the fantastic. The reader is immersed in a real textual space where the strange not only surprises, but also bursts into the normal Andean realm. In Vallejo, the supernatural invades the real realm and, from then on, the character experiences terror and horror at the presence of abnormal events and the specter of the dead mother. The feminine role in Vallejo is very important since it is this one that opens the door to the unusual and it is the instrument for the inadmissible to take place in normal space. Vallejo uses the fantastic to highlight the importance of the mother as a provider of physical and spiritual food even until after death. For these purposes we will use David Roas´s critical studies and of other scholars of fear and fantasy because of their relevance to this research.
