La Organización Mundial de la Salud define el sobrepeso y la obesidad como una acumulación anormal o excesiva de grasa que puede ser perjudicial para la salud. La obesidad infantil es considerada la epidemia nutricional del siglo XXI y, es esencial que diversas instituciones se coordinen y promuevan una educación nutricional saludable junto a actividad física para mejorar la calidad de vida y disminuir la comorbilidad.

The World Health Organization defines overweight and obesity as an abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat that can be harmful to health. Childhood obesity is considered the nutritional epidemic of the 21st century and, it is essential that various institutions coordinate and promote a healthy nutritional education along with physical activity to improve the quality of life and reduce comorbidity.
