    La historia económica ecuatoriana ha sido fundamentalmente inestable, generando bajos rendimientos en el área comercial y financiera. En este contexto, el trabajo examina los antecedentes relacionados con la inserción comercial y financiera de la historia económica ecuatoriana, con enfoque cualitativo y usando el método histórico. El análisis de antecedentes muestra que el aspecto comercial tiene una alta de-pendencia de las exportaciones, acreditándolo a la falta de autonomía generada en la época colonial y a la necesidad de una matriz productiva con valor agregado. En cuanto al aspecto financiero, el endeudamiento y el gasto público han tenido efectos negativos en el desarrollo económico, y para contrarrestarlos se propone una inte-gración económica y un cambio de ideología productiva.

    The Ecuadorian economic history has been fundamentally unstable, generating low returns in the commercial and financial area. In this context, the paper examines the background related to the commercial and financial insertion of Ecuadorian eco-nomic history, with a qualitative approach and using the historical method. The back-ground analysis shows that the commercial aspect has a high dependence on exports, crediting it to the lack of autonomy generated in the colonial era and the need for a productive matrix with added value. Regarding the financial aspect, in-debtedness and public spending have had negative effects on economic develop-ment, and to counteract them, economic integration and a change in productive ideology are proposed.DOI:https://dx.doi.org/10.12795/rea.2022.i44.11Formato de cita / Citation: López-Sánchez, M.
