Las terapias breves, utilizadas por numerosos modelos teóricos, surgen como una opción terapéuticade bajo coste para responder a las exigencias de los sistemas públicos de saludacerca del uso de terapias psicológicas de corta duración que generen resultadosfavorables en la práctica clínica. Estas terapias están especialmente indicadas paralos problemas adaptativos y emocionales de gravedad leve o moderada. Dentrodel modelo cognitivo-conductual, la terapia breve se centra en el presente, buscaincrementar la motivación y la autoeficacia hacia el cambio, trabaja los pensamientos y las emociones y tiene como objetivo la toma de decisiones y potenciar el iniciodel cambio comportamental.
In recent years, a better adaptation of psychological treatments to real contextapplications has been claimed, which would entail, among other actions, their adaptation to brief formats of limited time. Brief therapies, used by numerous theoretical models,emerge as a low-cost therapeutic option to respond to the demands of public health systems on the use of short-term psychological therapies that generate favourable results in clinical practice. These therapies are especially indicated for mild and moderateadaptive and emotional problems. Within the cognitive-behavioural model, brief therapy focuses on the present, it seeks to increase motivation and self-efficacy towardschange, it works on thoughts and emotions and aims to make decisions and promotethe start of behavioural change.
