Resumen de Satán en el romanticismo: Un cambio de perspectiva

En este artículo recogeré una aproximación a la evolución de la imagen de Satán en el romanticismo, abordando, brevemente y como punto de partida, la visión de sus antecedentes bajomedievales, por ser totalmente contrapuesta.
Para evidenciar esta revisión de Satán en el plano ideológico, el peso de mi análisis caerá principalmente en las artes plásticas y el terreno literario, donde El Paraíso Perdido de John Milton tendrá una importancia clave como punto de inflexión hacia las relecturas más positivas de este personaje que acabarían por cristalizar en el siglo XIX.

In this article I will try to portray an approachment to the evolution of the Satan’s image in romanticism, addressing, briefly and as a starting point, the vision of its late-medieval background, for being totally opposed. To demonstrate this restoration of Satan on the ideological level, I will focus my analysis on the plastic arts and literature, where John Milton’s Paradise Lost will have a key importance as a turning point towards the most positive re-readings of this character that would eventually crystallize in the s. XIX.
