Tanto por la datación de los primeros mazos, referencias en diversa documentación y similitudes iconográficas tenemos que fechar el nacimiento del Tarot en el entorno de los años 1440 y 1445 en el ámbito de las repúblicas de Milán y Ferrara. De los tarots de los inicios, el primero que, mantenemos completo es el denominado Tarot Sola-Busca, fechado en el año 1491 en Venecia. De él conocemos su autoría y su factura pero desconocemos todavía muchos de los enigmas que encierra. En este artículo proponemos arrojar luz sobre algunos aspectos de esta interesante baraja renacentista, así como su posible vinculación con la alquimia, a la vez que mostraremos muchas de las incógnitas que todavía quedan por desvelar.

Both for the dating of the first decks, references in various documentation and iconographic similarities, we have to date the birth of the Tarot between the years 1440 and 1445 in the scope of the republics of Milan and Ferrara. Of the first preserved tarots, the one that we keep complete is the so-called Tarot Sola-Busca dated in 1491 in Venice. We know its authority and his making but we still do not know many of the enigmas that it contains. In this article we propose to shed light on some aspects of this interesting Renaissance deck, as well as its possible connection with Alchemy, while we will show many of the unknowns that still remain to be revealed.
