Resumen de Culture of human embryos through implantation stages in vitro

Implantation is a key milestone of human embryogenesis whereby the free-floating blastocyst establishes primary contacts with the maternal endometrium in concert with major morphogenetic changes that establish the future body plan of the embryo. Recent improvements of culture conditions enabled direct observation of embryo development beyond implantation deepening our knowledge on the key events of early human embryogenesis previously inaccessible to observation. Despite the absence of any maternal tissue, the in vitro cultured human embryo exhibits remarkable self-organising properties and recapitulates not only the formation of the amniotic cavity but also the segregation of different extraembryonic lineages.
