This study examines the actions of the administration of the Principality of Samos(1834-1912) in dealing with the cholera epidemic that had struck the Ottoman Empire, at the end ofthe first decade of the 20th century. The relevant logistics and decisions of the administration arepresented, the sanitary measures that were adopted, but also those related to the quarantine thatwas imposed and the restrictions on the movement of citizens and the import of goods from thetowns and villages in the opposite coast of Asia Minor.
