    El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar cómo se manifiesta el prescriptivismo lingüístico en las columnas sobre la lengua (CSL) escritas en la transición española y comprender cómo se construye la autoridad en textos periodísticos que funcionan como referentes públicos del uso correcto de la lengua. Se ejemplificará con la columna de Luis Calvo, «Diálogo de la lengua», (ABC, 1981-1984) que constituye un caso ejemplar de discurso metalingüístico escrito por un lego. Se analizarán los referentes sociales y, desde una perspectiva discursiva, se observarán los mecanismos relacionados con las necesidades argumentativas con el fin de poner en evidencia la estrecha relación entre la norma lingüística de las CSL y la norma social a la que estas remiten.

    The aim of this work is to study how linguistic prescriptivism manifests itself in the Columns on Language (CSL) that were written during the Spanish transition and to understand how authority is built in journalistic texts that function as public references for the correct use of the language. It will be exemplified with Luis Calvo’s column, «Dialogue of the language», (ABC, 1981- 1984), which constitutes an exemplary case of metalinguistic discourse written by a layman. Social references will be analyzed, and, from a discursive perspective, the mechanisms related to argumentative needs will be observed in order to highlight the close relationship between the linguistic norm of CSL and the social norm to which they refer.
