    La femme fatalien es una criatura alienígena híbrida que, bajo su apariencia de mujer voluptuosa y sexualmente receptiva, oculta un monstruo. En otras versiones, esta femme carnívora es creada en un laboratorio, sembrando el caos tras escapar y campar a sus anchas buscando reproducirse, amenazando con ello el bien- estar de la humanidad. Es precisamente el anhelo reproductor el que particulariza a este arquetipo, como intentará mostrarse a través de la película Splice (2009), de V.

    Natali, donde se analizará la particular relación entre la femme fatalien y la maternidad, un elemento generalmente desvinculado de la femme fatale.

    The femme fatalien is a hybrid extra-terrestrial creature in which, underneath the appearance of a curvaceous and sexually receptive woman, a monster hides.

    In other versions, this flesh-eating femme is created in a lab, wreaking havoc when she escapes and runs free seeking to breed, thus threatening humanity’s wellbeing. It is precisely such reproductive longing what particularises this arche- type, as this paper will attempt to show through the film Splice (2009, by V. Natali, where the connection between the femme fatalien and the notion of motherhood, an element generally dissociated from the femme fatale, will be analysed.
