En este artículo el autor lleva a cabo una aproximación a la novela Lilith, del escritor escocés George MacDonald, en el marco referente a los conceptos propios del imaginario victoriano en su relación con el mito de la figura feme- nina y su construcción dentro del enfoque de lo fantástico. A lo largo del texto se trata la importancia de la polaridad dialéctica de opuestos y la catálisis de ansie- dades, miedos y deseos reprimidos como elementos clave en la cohesión de la imagen de la mujer fatal bajo el prisma de la Inglaterra de finales del siglo XIX.
In this essay, the autor carry out an aproximation to Lilith, the novel of George MacDonald, with the perspective of the typical concepts of the victorian imagi- nary in their relationship with the female myth and its construction under the viewpoint of the fantastic. Along the text, the autor attends the matter of the importance of the dialectic of opposites and the catalysis of anxieties, fears and repressed desires as key elements in the cohesion of the image of the femme fatale under the prism of England in the last years of the XIX century.
