    Se analiza la Sostenibilidad del Presupuesto General del Estado (PGE) del Ecuador en el período  2008  al  2017  desde  el  Modelo  de  la  Triple  Vertiente  de  la  Sostenibilidad,  ubicando  al  PGE como un instrumento de Gestión de los Ingresos y Gastos para que generen una buena salud financiera que garanticen el cumplimiento de los objetivos planteados en el Plan Nacional Toda Una Vida. El es- tudio es Observacional, Retrospectivo, Longitudinal y Descriptivo. Se utilizan datos que se obtienen de las estadísticas existentes del ente rector de las Finanzas Públicas, el Ministerio de Finanzas, entidad responsable de la recolección de información de todas las instituciones del sector público, evaluando la ejecución presupuestaría cortada al 31 de diciembre de cada año económico, siendo la variable analíti- ca, la sostenibilidad del presupuesto. Los datos encontrados dan cuenta de que el Presupuesto General del Estado no tiene un equilibrio entre los ingresos y gastos.

    The Sustainability of the General State Budget (PGE) of Ecuador in the period 2008 to 2017 is analyzed from the Model of the Triple Shed of Sustainability, locating the PGE as an instrument of Management of the Income and Expenses so that they generate a good health that guarantee the fulfillment of the objectives set out in the National Plan A Whole Life. The study is Observational, Retrospective, Longitudinal and Descriptive. Data are used obtained from the existing statistics of the governing body of Public Finance, the Ministry of Finance, entity responsible for collecting information from all public sector institutions, evaluating the budget execution cut as of December 31 of each year economic, being the analytical variable, the sustainability of the budget. The data found show that the General State Budget does not have a balance between income and expenses.
