En este artículo se analizan las setenta cartas que Magdalena Fernández de Córdoba envió a su esposo, Diego Carrillo de Albornoz en el tránsito del siglo XVIII al XIX. El conjunto de documentos ofrece un relato no solo del año y medio que duró su breve matrimonio (1800-1801), sino también los meses de noviazgo previos a su boda. En el análisis que se presenta, se pondrá de relieve de qué manera las cartas reflejan el cambio en los patrones emocionales que se impuso en el XVIII, así como las nuevas formas de entender el amor y las prácticas relacionales entre los esposos que se fueron aplicando con la influencia de las ideas ilustradas.
This paper examines the seventy letters that That Magdalena Fernández de Córdoba sent to her husband, Diego Carrillo de Albornoz at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The collection refers, not only to their brief marriage —that lasted one year and a half (1800-1801)—, but also to the months when they were engaged. This work focuses on the way these letters reflect a change in the emotional patterns imposed all along the 18th Century, together with the new ways of understanding love and relational practices between married couples that grew under the influence of enlightened ideas.
