  • Resumen
    • This study investigated self-perceived professional competence and resilience in Physical Education students who were part of a supervised internship. As part of the sample, there were fifty-eight interns from five public universities in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Thirty-three were women (28.18 ± 6.22 years old) and twenty-five were men (27.32 ± 6.33 years old). In order to compare outcomes, a hundred professionals having a Physical Education degree also joined it, fifty-four women (33.80 ± 5.93 years old) and forty-six men (36.43 ± 7.86 years old). As instruments, we selected the Perceived Competence Scale in Physical Education and Sports and the 10- item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale adapted for Brazil. The results showed that amongst students, women were more resilient and, amongst graduated professionals, men presented better results than women regarding perceived competence and resilience. We concluded that even though there is a pandemic context, both male and female students concluded their supervised internships and their means of perceived competence (2.97) and resilience (29) demonstrate that participants have self-perception and resilience according to studies in literature.
