    La actividad comercial en la Sevilla del siglo XVI estaba muy dispersa y atomizada en diferentes tipos de inmuebles. Además de tiendas y casa-tiendas, cabe preguntarse qué otras instalaciones de venta, almacenaje o transformación, completaban el amplio espectro comercial y de negocios de Sevilla, como, por ejemplo, almacenes, bodegas, boticas, carnicerías, bancos y oficios, usos secundarios pero no menos importantes dentro del engranaje terciario de la ciudad. La consulta de más de 2.000 documentos históricos y el análisis de apeos de inmuebles catedralicios y de hospitales de caridad ha permitido:

    encontrar referencias a muchos de estos usos tras la búsqueda de dichos términos en los textos;

    identificar en el plano catastral las parcelas de estos edificios comerciales repartidas por toda la ciudad; dibujar los espacios descritos en los apeos, distinguir las tipologías edificatorias y, por último, destacar sus medidas y detalles constructivos ofreciendo su análisis tipológico y arquitectónico.

    Commercial activity in 16th century Seville was very dispersed and atomized in different types of buildings. In addition to shops and house-shops, it is worth wondering what other kind of shops and storage or transformation facilities completed the broad business spectrum of Seville, such as warehouses, apothecaries and butcher shops; secondary but no less important uses within the city’s tertiary sector. In this article, more than 2.000 historical documents and surveys of buildings drawn up in the second half of the century and owned by the Cathedral and charity hospitals have been consulted and analysed. This great amount of documents accurately reflected their location and their spaces with measures and construction details. This fact has let to draw some of these buildings. Finally, conclusions about the main typological characteristics have been obtained.
