Resumen de Boko Haram: un desafío para el Estado nigeriano, 2002-2020

Nigeria, luego de iniciado el proceso de transición hacia la democracia en 1999 ha enfrentado desde el 2002 una nueva amenaza al norte del país, esta vez en Boko Haram. En este sentido, el objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar el impacto de esta organización a la institucionalidad nigeriana, prácticas violentas que condenan todo vestigio cultural procedente de occidente, lo que ha llevado al Estado nigeriano a redefinir su estrategia de seguridad ante el creciente desafío que esta supone a la estabilidad nacional y regional.

Nigeria, after beginning the process of transition to democracy in 1999, has since 2002 faced a new threat to the north of the country, this time from Boko Haram. In this sense, the objective of this paper is to analyze the impact of this organization on the Nigerian institutionality, violent practices that condemn all cultural vestiges from the West, which has led the Nigerian State to redefine its security strategy in the face of the growing challenge that this supposes national and regional stability.
