    El ingreso a una Universidad Pública en Ecuador se ha convertido en un desafío, principalmente porque hay nuevas disposiciones legales que han modificado la conducta de los bachilleres, tanto como por la no participación de las mismas Instituciones de Educación Superior. Se pretende hacer una revisión histórica del pasado inmediato en la Facultad de Ingeniería en Geología, Minas, Petróleos y Ambiental de la Universidad Central, como describir el actual tránsito del bachillerato a la educación superior y una presentación crítica de resultados obtenidos en nivelación de carreras del período 2015-2016. Ante el aviso por parte de la Secretaría Nacional de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, de que a futuro, se pretende que las dos Instituciones sean corresponsables de la admisión y nivelación, es de alta importancia: dimensionar la responsabilidad que se adquirirá y con ello se prevean las medidas a tomar. Una revisión de resultados anteriores, el tener claro y en detalle el perfil de bachiller que ofrecen los Colegios a la Sociedad, así como definir que conocimientos y habilidades requieren éstas carreras, permitirá que se ajuste el curso de nivelación para garantizar mejores niveles de promoción en primer semestre de las carreras mencionadas. Se quiere ratificar que el curso de nivelación debe tener una dedicación muy alta a las asignaturas de ciencias básicas, éstas son: matemática, física y química; base fundamental para las ingenierías; se pretende que, al menos un 90% de la carga horaria del curso se ocupe de las asignaturas descritas, y complementar con otras actividades necesarias para la comprensión y adaptación a la vida universitaria y que motiven la vocación de los bachilleres sea para ratificar su elección o para que, a tiempo se pueda revisar la decisión.

    The entrance to a Public University in Ecuador has become a challenge, mainly because there are new legal dispositions that have modified the behavior of the high schools, as much as for the non participation of the same Institutions of Superior Education. It is sought to make a historical revision of immediate past in the Ability of Ingeniería en Geología, Minas, Petróleos y Ambiental of the Universidad Central, as describing the current traffic from the high school to the superior education and a critical presentation of results obtained in leveling of careers of the period 2015-2016. The communication on the part of the Secretaría Nacional de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación in that it is sought that the two Institutions are corresponsables of the admission and leveling to future, are of high importance to size the responsibility that will be acquired and with they are foreseen it the measures to take. A revision of previous results, to understand and in detail high school’s profile that they offer the Colleges to the Society, as well as to define that knowledge and abilities require these careers, it will allow that the leveling course is adjusted to guarantee better promotion levels in first semester of the aforementioned careers. It is wanted to ratify that the leveling course should have a very high dedication to the basic subjects of sciences, these are: mathematics, physics and chemistry; it bases fundamental for the engineerings, it is sought that at least 90% of the load horaria of the course will be in charge of the described subjects, and to supplement with other necessary activities for the understanding and adaptation of the university life and that they motivate the vocation of the high schools it is to ratify its election or so that on time you can revise the decision.
