    En la literatura especializada es frecuente leer que la migración es un fenómeno que afecta todas las dimensiones de la existencia social, tanto urbana como rural; y que se conforma de diferentes elementos psicológicos, sociales, económicos, culturales, ambientales y otros; que requieren ser estudiados en profundidad para comprender mejor el fenómeno y proponer soluciones que mitiguen sus efectos, o que permitan aprovechar las oportunidades de desarrollo que ofrece a diferentes niveles. Con estos elementos y otros teóricos y prácticos, Fernández invita al lector no sólo a examinar su obra, sino a mantenerla como un libro de consulta, debido al gran aporte teórico y metodológico que contiene sobre el tema.

    In specialized literature it is frequently stated that migration is a phenomenon that affects every dimension of social existence, both urban and rural; and, that it is made up of different psychological, social, economic, cultural, environmental and other elements, which need to be studied in depth in order to better comprehend the phenomenon and to suggest solutions that mitigate its effects or that allow taking advantage of the development opportunities that it offers at different levels. With these elements and others, theoretical and practical, Fernández invites the reader not only to examine his work but also to keep it as a book for consultation, given the great theory and methodology contribution that it presents about the issue.
