  • Resumen
    • Study was aimed to examine first most evident symptoms in women occurred in climacterium, how they perceive and assess the progress such symptoms. Monitoring wasconducted by questionnaire among women maximum two years after the last menstrualperiod, and age did not exceed 62 years. The total number of distributed questionnaireswas 108 in the outpatient care of a woman. The survey was conducted in the period Aprilto September 2016 in different regions of Slovakia. The obtained data were processed bythe method of deductive statistics. For statistical processing we used inductive statistics. The results were processed using the statistical program SPSS 20 (Statistical Package forthe Social Sciences). The average age of women at the time of first occurrence of menopausalsymptoms was 47.83 years (± 8.83). The average length of symptoms’ duration was18.92 months. At the beginning of menopause (time of climacterium) symptoms werepresent in 88% of women. One symptom reported 48% of women, two symptoms 32%,three symptoms 14%, and four symptoms reported 6% of women. Flushing reported 60women and 47 women night sweats. Subjective assessment of severe symptoms as sleepdisorders reported 9.3% of women and headaches 9.3% of women. To assess the severityof menopausal symptoms, we took advantage of Greene’s range. To detect a difference weused paired t-test. The hypothesis that there is a statistically significant difference betweenthe subjective and objective assessment of the incidence and severity of symptoms wasconfirmed (t-1.994).
