El infante como héroe traductor en el Libro de los engaños a través de la categoría ATU «The Clever Man»

    En el Libro de los engaños el Infante se enfrenta a un proceso donde es sentenciado a muerte por los dichos falsos de su madrastra. Sin embargo, en el proceso iniciático para aprender la sabiduría, ha sido instruido por su maestro para guardar silencio durante siete días. Imposibilitado para defenderse, sólo es capaz de permanecer callado y, aparentemente, en espera de una sentencia final que decida su suerte. A través de la etiqueta de «héroe traductor», y que posiblemente pueda hallarse en la muy extensa categoría «Clever man» de ATU, es posible reflexionar con mejores herramientas que el Infante no está desactivado en la intriga cortesana, sino por el contrario, está descifrando los signos de la providencia y la fortuna humana, para demostrar que es el más sabio del reino al término de los días para realizar la prueba del silencio.

    In the Libro de los engaños the Infante faces a process where he is sentenced to death for the false sayings of his stepmother. However, in the initiatory process of learning wisdom, he has been instructed by his teacher to be silent for seven days. Unable to defend, he is only able to remain silent and, apparently, awaiting a final sentence that decides his fate. Through the label of the «translator hero», and which can possibly be found in ATU’s very extensive «Clever man» category, it is possible to reflect with better tools that the Infant is not deactivated in the courtly intrigue, but on the contrary, is deciphering the signs of providence and human fortune, to show that he is the wisest in the kingdom at the end of the days to perform the test of silence.
