En este texto se revisa sucintamente la historia de la relación del Arte con la Psiquiatría, enlo que se refiere tanto a la relaciones de los contextos (artísticos y clínico-asistenciales),como conceptuales. Además se presentan los fundamentos teóricos de la función terapéuticadel arte en los museos, teniendo en cuenta los ingredientes más característicos a esterespecto de la obra de arte, su carácter icónico, alusivo y metafórico; y la oportunidad deque, tras la contemplación compartida de la obra, se proceda a la conversación terapéutica.A su vez se presentan los elementos centrales de la psiquiatría y la salud comunitaria, y susconexiones con la museología social.

This text briefly reviews the history of the relationship between art and psychiatry, in regardboth to the relations of the contexts (art and clinical-care), and conceptual. Besides thetheoretical foundations of the therapeutic role of art in museums are presented, consideringthe most typical in this respect of the artwork ingredients, iconic, allusive and metaphorical;and the chance that after the shared contemplation of the artwork, proceed to thetherapeutic conversation.
