Resumen de Plantas con valor de uso para la etnia yaqui en Sonora, México

  Las especies vegetales útiles cumplen un papel decisivo de soporte y subsidio en los medios de vida de los pobladores de las comunidades rurales. En el caso de la Etnia Yaqui, el patrimonio etnobotánico con el que cuentan es un elemento identitario y referencial cuyos rasgos se han trasmitido generacionalmente, confiriéndoles cohesión interna mediante signos comunes, además de contibuir a preservar la cultura culinaria, medicinal y ceremonial. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo identificar las plantas nativas e introducidas con valor de uso en la comunidad Yaqui de Vícam Pueblo, Guaymas, México. La investigación se llevó a cabo bajo un enfoque de Investigación Acción Participativa y protocolos empleados en estudios etnobotánicos. Se aplicaron 60 encuestas semiestructuradas con preguntas de respuesta abierta y algunas preguntas de una respuesta. Se identifican 42 plantas con diferente uso: combustibles, medicinales, alimenticias, forrajeras, construcción, ceremoniales o religiosas, ornamentales y cercos vivos. Las plantas que reconocen como útiles son aprovechadas de diversa manera, y dependiendo de la especie, es la parte morfológica aprovechada. Se encontró que según la especie se aprovechan las hojas, la flor, el fruto, el tallo, la raíz y la semilla.

  Lo anterior ejemplifica que la etnia yaqui es capaz de aprovechar sus conocimientos ancestrales para el aprovechamiento de las plantas presentes en la región.

  The useful plant species play a decisive role of support and subsidy, in the livelihoods of the inhabitants of rural communities. In the case of the Yaqui ethnic group, the ethnobotanical heritage they have is an identity and referential element whose traits have been transmitted generationally, giving them internal cohesion through common signs, in addition to contributing to preserve the culinary, medicinal and ceremonial culture. The objective of this research is to identify native and introduced plants with use value in the Yaqui community of Vicam Town, Guaymas, Mexico. The research was carried out under a participatory action research approach and protocols used in ethnobotanical studies. Sixty semi- structured surveys with open-ended questions and some questions of one answer were applied. 42 plants with different uses are identified: fuel, medicinal, food, forage, construction, ceremonial or religious, ornamental and living fences. The plants that they recognize as useful are used in different ways, and depending on the species, it is the morphological part taken advantage of. It was found that according to the species the leaves, the flower, the fruit, the stem, the root and the seed are used. The foregoing exemplifies that the Yaqui ethnic group is able to take advantage of their ancestral knowledge for the use of the plants present in the region.
