  • The digital transformation of the Spanish public sector is not being easy nor uniform. It has been legislated rather than managed. But laws, by themselves, usually do not solve the problems. However, in recent yearsthis process has accelerated, probably due to a growing social demand for administrative agility. This acceleration of digital transformation is reinforced by the entry into the scene of disruptive technologies, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data management or others, the pandemic crisis and, in the European Union, the commitment to funds for economic recovery that include a specific component for the digital transformation of European administrations. In this context, the application of disruptive technologies in public administration has begun to be regulated. The Autonomous Community of Aragon is an example of this, specifically of blockchain. An extremely interesting use case has already been developed, in terms of recruitment. But a lot more can be achieved from the combination of blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data and cloud.
