  • Resumen
    • Introduction: This study describes the systematic review undertaken aiming the identification of the existing competency framework. Than the data collection method used to know the operators’ opinions regarding the skills required for the care of dementia is described by including interviewsand a survey.Methodology: The literature review was performed using the following databases: PubMed, Cohrane, CINAHL, EMBASE, CRD, MedlinePlus, PEDro, CNRS by paying a special attention and analysis to the studies based on the professionals insertion in nursing homes, their relationship with peoplesuffering dementia and skills used. Results: A total of 24 relevant studies were identified, 9 of these were then excluded due to the lackof scientific quality. They were also excluded quantitative studies that have exercised the skill achieved only in one training platform. Other studies were excluded when the focus of the training was not on the management of dementia, for example, if the study focuses on the detection rather than on operations, this means that the number of studies that met the analysis eligibility criteria were 15.Conclusions/Discussion: The centers that do not have as main objective the care of people with intellectual disabilities did not have a clear operational procedure or a guide line for patients with specific disabilities. Individuals with dementia are rarely involved and the family members are not always active participants in the evaluation process.
