    Este artículo, a partir de ciertos fragmentos de la memoria individual y de la posmemoria (la recibida o heredada) de su autor, relativos a la Guerra Civil española, el franquismo y la Transición, hace una doble propuesta. Plantea la necesidad de que la memoria y la historia, más allá de sus diferencias, confluyan en la búsqueda de la verdad. Y la necesidad de que la disección de los enrevesados pliegues de la memoria (sus fluctuaciones, sus olvidos, sus silencios, sus zonas grises) contribuya, a través de la enseñanza de la historia, a formar en los alumnos un pensamiento complejo y a ejercitarles en el buen uso de la memoria.

    From certain fragments of the individual memory and the post-memory (both received and inherited) of the author regarding the Spanish Civil War, Francoism and the democratic transition, the objective of this article is two-fold. On the one hand, it highlights the need for memory and history to come together, beyond their differences, in the search of the truth. On the other, it points to the need for the dissection of the intricate folds of memory (its fluctuations, its forgetfulness, its silences, its grey areas) to contribute, through the teaching of history, to forming in the students a habit of com-plex thinking and to train them in the productive use of memory.
