    Durante el embarazo, hay cambios fisiológicos que producen alteraciones en la farmacocinética de los diferentes antimicrobianos, además de los efectos tóxicos que los mismos pueden tener sobre el embrión y el feto. La mayor parte de los antibióticos pasan la barrera hematoplacentaria y hay una limitación al realizar ensayos clínicos en el embarazo para valorar la efectividad de unos fármacos u otros. A continuación, se presentan diferentes escenarios clínicos durante el embarazo y las mejores opciones de tratamiento antibiótico.

    During pregnancy, there are physiological changes that produce changes in the pharmacokinetics of the different antimicrobials, in addition to the toxic effects they may have on the embryo and the fetus. Most antibiotics pass the blood-placental barrier and there is a limitation when conducting clinical trials in pregnancy to assess the efficacy of drugs or others. We present different clinical situations during pregnancy and the best antibiotic treatment options for each moment.
