The proposal consists of showing some of the exercises carried out by intermediate and advanced level students of the Architecture Career of the Centro Universitario de Arte, Arquitectura y Diseño de la Universidad de Guadalajara (University Center of Art, Architecture and Design of the University of Guadalajara) in Jalisco, Mexico, where the conceptualization of form and structure has been developed through experimental models. By means of trial and error, students have developed models as three-dimensional sketches from which they have developed an approach to their architectural proposal. In any case, the premise consists of developing innovative architectural proposals that do not resemble anything that already exists, using the model as a creative trigger—visualizing and schematizing it—in order to move from the abstract in the experimental layout to the figurative in the architectural proposal. Therefore, it will be explained how these exercises were developed in the project workshops, through the schematism of Joan Costa, from a methodological reinterpretation of “Las Formas del Siglo XX” by Josep María Montaner, and the folies by Bernard Tschumi
