  Las moscardas (Diptera: Calliphoridae) desempeñan el papel de descomponedoras, sarcosaprófagas y polinizadoras. También juegan un papel muy importante en la transmisión de enfermedades infecciosas o como agentes inductores de miasis en animales y humanos. En cuanto a la taxonomía de este grupo en México, hasta ahora no hay información precisa, y la poca literatura que existe está dispersa. Tomando esto en consideración, el objetivo principal de esta investigación fue determinar el estado actual de la taxonomía de la familia Calliphoridae (Diptera) en México. Durante la búsqueda detallada de la información documentada en artículos científicos, tesis de postgrado, revistas científicas y en colecciones entomológicas de diferentes instituciones de México, se logró obtener un total de 1057 registros. Además, se incluyen claves de identificación, así como la distribución de las especies. También nuevos registros de México (incluido el autor que lo registra). Lucilia elongata es un primer registro de distribución para el país (Estado de Guanajuato); Lucilia purpurascens es un primer registro de distribución para el país (Estado de San Luis Potosí).

  Blowflies (Diptera: Calliphoridae) play the role of decomposers, sarcosaprophages and pollinators. They also play a very important role in the transmission of infectious diseases or as agents producing myiasis in animals and humans. With regard to the taxonomy of this group in Mexico, up to now there is no precise information, and the little literature that exists is scattered. Taking this into consideration, the main objective of this research was to determine the current status of the taxonomy of the family Calliphoridae (Diptera) in Mexico. During the detailed search for information that is documented in scientific articles, postgraduate theses, and entomological collections of different institutions in Mexico, it was possible to obtain information on 35,446 specimens, which were grouped in 1057 records. In addition, identification keys are included, as well as the distribution of the species. Also new records from Mexico (including the author who reports it). Lucilia elongata is a first distribution record for the country (State of Guanajuato); Lucilia purpurascens is a first distribution record for the country (State of San Luis Potosí).
