    En este artículo se busca poner en cuestión la interpretación de Francisco Suárez como un autor voluntarista. Para ello, examinaremos el planteamiento de Suárez acerca de la acción legisladora, teniendo como base el concepto de potentia o poder, que se analizará en los distintos órdenes normativos en que puede encontrarse. Así, iremos siguiendo las exigencias de una completitud explicativa que supone el sistema suarista, dedicando un apartado al poder del pueblo, otro al poder de la autoridad política, y, finalmente, un apartado dedicado a la cuestión del poder divino; si está la omnipotencia divina sobre el orden de la realidad, y puede Dios mandar lo absurdo, o si, más bien, la razón es hasta la última instancia el alma de la ley.

    This article seeks to interrogate the interpretation of Francisco Suárez as a voluntarist author. To do so, we will examine Suárez’s approach to legislative action, taking the concept of potentia or power, which will be analysed in the different normative orders in which it can be found. Thus, we will follow the demands of explanatory completeness that the Suarist system presupposes, devoting a section to the power of the people, another to the power of the political authority, and, finally, a section devoted to the question of divine power; whether divine omnipotence is over the order of reality, and whether God can command the absurd, or whether, rather, reason is to the last instance the soul of the law.
