    El objetivo del trabajo es el estudio de las fiestas organizadas por los franciscanosobservantes de la localidad cordobesa de Baena en 1628 para celebrar la beatificación de losMártires del Japón proclamada por Urbano VIII en septiembre del año anterior, cuyo patrociniocorre a cargo del señor de la villa el VI duque de Sessa don Luis Fernández de Córdoba.Además de las funciones religiosas, tienen lugar festejos de toros y juego de cañas que regocijanal conjunto de la población. La fuente documental utilizada es la descripción de losactos hecha por Gabriel de Arriaga que sale a la luz el citado año en la imprenta del marquésde Priego en Montilla.

    The aim of the present work is the study of the celebrations organized by theObservant Franciscans of the Cordovan town of Baena in 1628 to celebrate the beatificationof the Martyrs of Japan proclaimed by Urban VIII in September of the previousyear, whose sponsorship was the responsibility of the Lord of the town the VIDuke of Sessa Don Luis Fernández de Córdoba. In addition to the religious functions,there are bullfights and games of reeds that rejoice the whole population. The documentarysource used is the description of the acts made by Gabriel de Arriaga that comesto light the aforementioned year in the press of the Marquis of Priego in Montilla
