    El objeto del trabajo es el estudio de la influencia de los frailes observantes y recoletos de la provincia franciscana de Granada en la villa cordobesa de Espejo a lo largo del siglo XVIII. La huella de los religiosos que transitan o residen temporalmente en la localidad campiñesa, como demandantes y predicadores cuaresmales, se manifiesta a través de una serie de indicadores bien significativos como las mandas de misas y limosnas, la actividad de la venerable orden tercera, la devoción a san Francisco de Asís y los novicios oriundos de esta población que visten el hábito de la orden seráfica.

    The object of this paper is the study of the influence of the Observant and Recollect friars of the Franciscan Province of Granada on the Cordoban municipality of Espejo throughout the eighteenth century. The imprint left by the members of the orders who pass through or reside temporarily in this town in the “Campiña”, as questors of alms or preachers in Lent, is apparent in a series of highly significant features such as bequests for Masses and alms, the activity of the Venerable Third Order, devotion to Saint Francis of Assisi and the novices originating from this town who take the habit of the Seraphic Order.
