  Este artículo titulado El may pole en la memoria de los portadores culturales creoles de Puerto Cabezas, Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte de Nicaragua, alude a la danza caribeña palo de mayo y se han enfatizado los ritos asociados a la celebración de esta festividad que, representa un reencuentro con nuestras raíces históricas y culturales.  La metodología es cualitativa con enfoque hermenéutico al basarse fundamentalmente en bibliografía y las entrevistas realizadas, el nivel de profundidad es descriptiva-explicativa ya que permitió reconstruir la memoria sobre lo andado y vivido y extraer las lecciones aprendidas o la experiencia de los portadores culturales afrodescendientes en la promoción y preservación del may pole en Puerto Cabezas. Al compartir sus conocimientos, saberes y prácticas los portadores culturales nos brindan la posibilidad de rescate del verdadero significado de la festividad y la revitalización de la misma en espacios privados y públicos

  This article entitled: "The may pole in the memory of the creoles cultural bearers from Puerto Cabezas, Autonomous Region of the Northern Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast", refers to the Caribbean dance "palo de mayo" (may pole) and the rites associated with the celebration of this festivity have been emphasized, which represents a reunion with our historical and cultural roots.  The methodology is qualitative with a hermeneutic approach as it is mainly based on bibliography and the interviews conducted, the level of depth is descriptive-explanatory as it allowed reconstructing the memory of what has been walked and lived and extracting the lessons learned or the experience of the Afro-descendant cultural carriers in the promotion and preservation of the may pole in Puerto Cabezas. By sharing their knowledge, wisdom and practices, the cultural bearers offer us the possibility of rescuing the true meaning of the festivity and its revitalization in private and public spaces.
