Resumen de El Derecho civil ante el Metaverso: hacia un Metalaw europeo y sus remedios en el Multiverso

El presente trabajo aborda los nuevos retos del Derecho civil en relación con el Metaverso, cuya respuesta legal debe abordarse a nivel europeo. Por ello, se partirá de la naturaleza jurídica del Metaverso para abordar su hardware. Este se compone de la realidad aumentada, la realidad mixta y la realidad virtual, así como las tecnologías de la realidad digital, que se concretan en la tecnología blockchain y Web3. Seguidamente, se analizará la adaptación al Metaverso del tratamiento legal europeo frente a los abusos en las materias propias del Derecho civil: la protección del consumidor, la transmisión de la propiedad, la protección de datos y la responsabilidad civil.

This paper addresses new challenges of Private Law regarding the Metaverse, in accordance with the importance of a European legal response to this matter. Therefore, the paper focuses on the legal nature of the Metaverse, to examine its hardware as a digital reality. This is composed by augmented reality, mixed reality, and virtual reality, as well as digital reality technologies, considering to blockchain technology and Web3. Finally, the paper analyses European legal remedies in the field of Private Law in the Metaverse: consumer protection, transfer of property, data protection and civil liability
