    Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar um levantamento da fotografia no estado de São Paulo no começo do século XX, buscando identificar principalmente os fotógrafos do interior. As fontes escolhidas para o levantamento foram: periódicos, almanaques e estatísticas do período de 1890 a 1930. A pesquisa online por palavras-chave como “photographo” e “photographia” realizadas nos periódicos e almanaques da Biblioteca Nacional Digital e a estatística industrial de 1912 de São Paulo possibilitaram uma análise quantitativa e qualitativa de fotógrafos. Por meio destas fontes foi possível saber, em muitos casos, o nome, a cidade, o endereço e, com maiores detalhes, os trabalhos que os fotógrafos realizavam. Com o cruzamento das informações, verificamos o aumento significativo de fotógrafos na capital e a distribuição desigual pelas cidades do interior. Sobre as atividades dos fotógrafos, encontramos uma grande variedade de campos de atuação e um aumento nas demandas de atividades já conhecidas.

    This article aims to present a survey of photography in the state of São Paulo in the early twentieth century, seeking to identify mainly the photographers in the countryside. The sources chosen for the survey were: periodicals, almanacs and statistics from 1890 to 1930. The online search for keywords such as "photographo" and "photographia" carried out in the periodicals and almanacs of the Biblioteca Nacional Digital and the 1912 industrial statistics of São Paulo enabled a quantitative and qualitative analysis of photographers. Through these sources it was possible to know, in many cases, the name, the city, the address and, in greater detail, the work that the photographers did. By cross-referencing the information, we could verify the significant increase of photographers in the capital city, and the unequal distribution among the inland cities. Regarding the activities of the photographers, we found a great variety of fields of activity and an increase in the demands of already known activities.
