Resumen de Copa do mundo de futebol: uma análise longitudinal dos atletas convocados para seleção brasileira de futebol entre os anos de 1974 e 2018

  Introduction: The Football World Cup is an international competition that is currently held every four years and is considered the most important football tournament in the world. Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of 269 players who were called up to compete in the World Football Championships between the 1974 and 2018 editions. 12 editions of the event were analyzed. The samples were collected from the following websites: FIFA's official website, oGol, Transfermarkt and CBF's official website. Data were analyzed descriptively through the distribution of absolute and relative frequency. Results: It is observed that 65.4% of players were born in the Southeast region, followed by 17.4% in the South region, 11.8% in the Northeast region, 3.4% in the Midwest region and 1.4% in the North region. The states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro had the highest absolute and relative frequency of athletes called up for the World Cups between 1974 - 2018, 90 (33.46%) and 59 (21.93%) respectively. It was found that in the 1974 and 1978 editions a total of 100% of the sample played in Brazilian football. In the 2014 and 2018 editions, more than 80% of the athletes worked in international clubs. Conclusion: The states belonging to the Southeast region were the ones with the highest percentage of athletes called up for the world cups, in addition, over the years, there was a higher percentage of players who played in international football called up for the world cups compared to the athletes who played in national football.

  Introdução: A copa do Mundo de futebol é uma competição internacional que atualmente é realizada de quatro em quatro anos e é considerada o torneio mais importante de futebol do mundo.  Materiais e Métodos: A amostra foi composta por 269 jogadores que foram convocados para a disputa dos Campeonatos Mundiais de Futebol entre as edições de 1974 e 2018. Foram analisadas 12 edições do evento. As amostras foram coletadas nos seguintes sites: Site oficial da FIFA, oGol, Transfermarkt e site oficial da CBF. Os dados foram analisados de forma descritiva através da distribuição de frequência absoluta e relativa. Resultados: Observa-se que 65,4% dos jogadores nasceram na região Sudeste, seguido de 17,4% na região Sul, 11,8% na região Nordeste, 3,4% na região Centro-Oeste e 1,4% na região Norte. Os estados de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro tiveram maior frequência absoluta e relativa de atletas convocados para as copas dos mundos entre 1974 - 2018, 90 (33,46%) e 59 (21,93%) respectivamente. Verificou-se que nas edições de 1974 e 1978 um total de 100% da amostra atuava no futebol brasileiro. Já nas edições de 2014 e 2018 mais de 80% dos atletas atuavam em clubes internacionais. Conclusão: Os estados pertencentes a região sudeste foram os que apresentaram maior porcentagem de atletas convocados para as copas do mundo, além disso com o passar dos anos, houve uma maior porcentagem de jogadores que atuavam no futebol internacional convocados para as copas do mundo em relação aos atletas que atuavam no futebol nacional.
