• There is scant documentation of the origins of dentistry in countries of the Middle East.

  This paper aims to identify and detail the development of dentistry in one of the smaller countries in the Middle East, Kuwait that has played a pivotal role in a wide range of political and socio-economic developments in the past fifty years
